Striped Bass Maine has some of the most uncrowded and beautiful striped bass habitat anywhere on the East coast. Every year these wonderful game fish migrate north after spawning in spring. The stripers season here starts in May and runs right into October with some spectacular fall fishing. Unlike many striper fisheries most of our striped bass fishing is done in shallow clear water - florida style poling along the flats and coves in Casco Bay. Sight fishing makes up a good portion of the morning hunt, and even in blind casting situations you will be fishing no more than 6ft of crystal clear water along beaches and rocky coastline. |

The entire season here in Maine is productive for stripers, our water temperatures rarely get above 67 degrees all season which keeps the bass active here when other fisheries to the south are shut down. The fall season typically brings massive amounts of bait into the southern Maine region and the fishing can be outstanding day after day. Once the fall striper run begins large schools of surface feeding fish can be found gorging themselves throughout the day. Don't miss this time of year if possible... Rates: |
